SKY digital (DVB-T/T2 and DVB-H) transmitters  integrate more than 55 years of experience with the latest digital technology

The SKY series of digital (DVB-T/T2 and DVB-H) transmitters combine Elti’s reputation for robust equipment with the latest digital technology: a COFDM modulator provides 2k up to extended 32k IFFT operation mode (up to 8k for DVB-T). They are scalable and flexible, supporting applications from 500 mW up to 10 kW rms; low power applications are available in two compact versions, up to 5 W rms in 3U and up to 150 W rms in 4U and combined with the Elti range of power amplifiers they offer transmission solutions up to 10 kW rms, as air cooled or liquid cooled transmitters.

    Options for sky transmitters

    exciter

    The exciter is housed in a compact 19” 3U rack mount with the A class amplifier that provides 5 W of UHF output power. The built-in COFDM modulator features 4 ASI inputs, and provides 2k up to extended 32k IFFT operation mode (up to 8k for DVB-T). If the primary transport stream source fails the exciter can switch between the four ASI inputs manually or automatically.

    Unit is supporting MFN and SFN operation, featuring an integrated GPS receiver. To optimize transmitter performance a digital pre-corrector is included with an adaptive digital pre-correction (optional for DVB-T/T2 and DVB-H transmitters) to correct linear error and non-linear distortion of RF power amplifiers.

    The exciter fully supports DVB-T2 standard (EN 302 755).

    External amplifiers are available in models supplying 250 W and 500 W of UHF output power and 600 W of VHF output power. All amplifiers are designed for broadband and employ the latest state of the art LDMOS technology to guarantee linearity, compact design and high efficiency for minimizing operational costs. Self-protection circuits assure continuous operation and uninterrupted service in sight of minimizing operational costs.

    compact transmitters

    liquid cooled solutions

    Liquid cooling solutions comprises of two water pumps in passive reserve with an automatic change over in case of pump failure, one integrated control unit, liquid filter and heat exchanger with dual fans providing maximum redundancy of cooling system.

    control and monitoring

    The integrated control unit provides full control over the assembly and additional options/features. Control software EDM (Elti Device Manager) with a user friendly graphic interface comes as standard for all Elti DVB-T and DVB-H products. It features:

    • Control of all parameters related to operation
    • Password protection and access control
    • Measurement and display of power, voltage, current, temperature
    • Alarm
    • Management of machine history
    • Save and restore function
    • Remote upload of software

    The control software offers the same comprehensive functionality whether used locally or remotely via TCP/IP, SNMP or GSM networks. External connections are provided by:

    • Ethernet LAN/WAN for local/network access
    • RS 232 for local access

    The central control unit allows integration into ELTI ETRC telemetry system or other supervisory systems. It also offers the control of third party equipment and integration into a single system at the transmission site.
